Public Organisations
The UK rail industry was once a public company, but is now a privatised inductry. Due to the privatisation of the network a number of regulatory and other public bodies were setup to oversee the operation of the British rail network. Not only were some new bodies established, but some existing departments took over responsibility for rail operations.
